A few months ago, it was revealed that Microsoft is developing an AI assistant for deep user interaction within the Xbox ecosystem. The chatbot is designed as an animated character that can respond to both text queries and voice commands, providing detailed answers. Conversations begin with the phrase, “How can I help you today?”
What We Know
In a blog post on Xbox Wire, Megha Dudani, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft Gaming, shared that the AI-powered chatbot is named Support Virtual Agent. It is currently being tested by members of the Xbox Insider program in the U.S., with plans to expand to users in other countries soon
Megha Dudani noted that the chatbot is designed to “help Xbox players resolve their gaming support issues more efficiently” by “quickly accessing information from support.xbox.com to answer questions related to Xbox console and game support.”
No other gaming platform offers a similar AI assistant, making Microsoft potentially the first to provide gamers with a unique support experience.
